Education & Community Programs
STG & UW partnered for “Make Music Together” with a spirited performance by the Husky Marching Band and an “instrument petting zoo” with members of the UW Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Music Fraternity. Children had the opportunity to learn how to play a variety of music instruments in this free participatory program at The Neptune Theatre on October 22, 2011. Sign of the Times
The iconic 1930's Paramount blue and gold vertical sign was replaced in 2009 with an exact replica, using money raised in part by generous STG supporters. Identical in appearance, the replica was engineered with environmentally responsible materials and energy efficient lighting systems, to honor Seattle's history and future. DANCE This Training Intensive
The DANCE This Summer Training Intensive is an opportunity for young dancers (ages 13-21) at all levels to immerse themselves in diverse dance styles over the course of two weeks. It's just one way STG provides access, training and performance opportunities for over 15,000 youth and lifelong learners, primarily from underserved communities in the Seattle area. Mighty Wurlitzer

Dance for Parkinson's
STG is proud to expand our Dance for Parkinson's class to three locations this fall - Peter Kirk Community Center (Kirkland), Central District Community Center (Seattle) and Des Moines Senior Center (Des Moines)! Working with professional dancers specifically trained in the Dance for PD® method, participants learn how to use thought, imagination, eyes, ears and touch to control movement in a welcoming environment with live music.

Every season, STG presents over 50 education & outreach programs and a diverse programming slate of dance, jazz, Silent Film, Off-Broadway, Broadway, comedy, concerts and family arts. Ticket sales, private and corporate contributions and other earned income cover only a portion of these costs.
